STN BV today launches a newly developed universal upconverter. It is the solution for the present and future modes for cable tv operators. Nowadays the demands for upconverters are the sum of analog and digital signal capability over the entire frequency range in one small packaged upconverter thereby covering the full range of 47--862MHz and optionally 900--1500MHz. STN has taken on this technical challenge and designed an upconverter not seen before in the industry. It has superior spectral purity for analog needs and extremely good phase noise behaviour for both analog and digital modes along with the features needed to support these modes.

 

The economical benefit of this new design is a considerable reduction in cost on a “per channel” basis of at least 35% compared to existing upconverters.

The design is state of the art. The RF circuitry is equipped with mmic’s. A special custom designed microwave filter together with a very well considered RF concept secures the outstanding RF performance and exceptional spectral purity. Future software upgrades can be flashed into the memory without interruption of the functionality. Both powersupplies are hot swappable.
